Funnel Cake Recipe

Ingredients
1 cup of flour 2 teaspoons of sugar 1/2 teaspoon of salt 1 teaspoon of baking powder 1 egg, lightly beaten 3/4 cup of milk
Directions
In a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients together. Then gradually add in the beaten egg and milk until well blended Stand for about 15 minutes. In a deep skillet (frying pan) heat about a half inch of vegetable oil to about 400 F (200 C). When the oil is hot, pour the batter mixture through a funnel. Hold the funnel with one finger to keep the opening closed, and fill with batter. Open the end of the funnel and allow batter to run out in a stream into the deep hot oil. Move funnel from center, swirling outward in a circular pattern. Do continuous pouring until you are finished. Fry on each side until the cake is golden brown. Drain on paper towels Serve with powdered confectioner's sugar (icing sugar) over the top.
