Underweight
It could be that you eat a varied and well-balanced diet but are naturally very slim. If so, there is no need to change what you eat, but do make sure you are getting all the energy and nutrients you need to stay healthy and maintain your energy levels. You should not try to lose any weight. Weight loss offers you no health benefits. If you regularly make yourself sick, take laxatives or diuretics as a means of weight control, you should seek medical attention immediately. If you lose weight suddenly or for an unknown reason you should also see your doctor.

Healthy OK Range
This range is associated with the best health and least risk of heart disease, some cancers, osteoporosis and other health problems. There are no health benefits to changing your weight, but your health will benefit from being active and eating a healthy diet.

Overweight range.
Losing some weight will benefit your health and it is especially important that you don't gain any more. Being overweight is linked with type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, certain cancers and other types of illness.
Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, choose lower fat foods and watch your portion sizes. Cut back on foods and drinks containing a lot of sugar and/or fat.

Obese Range
If you are obese you should seek advice from your doctor as being obese is linked with type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, fertility problems, back pain and strokes.

Very Obese
Being very obese puts you at high increased risk of type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, joint pain, fertility problems, breathlessness, osteoarthritis, some cancers and other types of illness.
It is very important that you don't gain any more weight and start to take life-long steps to reduce your weight. The best way to do this is to combine a healthy diet (eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, choose lower fat foods, watch your portion sizes) with appropriate, regular physical activity.
